Michel Poulette to direct "Notes from a Life"

“Notes from a Life”, the forthcoming theatrically-released feature film produced by Equinoxe Films and Talelight Films, will be directed by renowned Québec director Michel Poulette.

Michel Poueltte’s career is a series of success stories with all of Quebec’s and Canada’s major broadcast networks. His projects have earned 20 Gemeaux and 2 Genie awards for programs and features and have consistently been among the highest rated. He also works for American Networks SHOWTIME and LIFETIME.

His first feature, “Louis 19, King of the Airwaves”, was the first American remake of a Canadian movie: “ED TV” by Ron Howard. For this film, Michel was awarded the First Time Director Award as well as the Golden Reel for biggest box office of the year.

Other works include the Québec mega-hit “Rock & Belles Oreilles”, “Agent of Influence” starring Oscar nominee Christopher Plummer and Gemini winner Marina Orsini, as well as “Bonanno: A Godfather’s Story” starring Oscar winner Martin Landau, Oscar nominee Edward James Olmos and Emmy nominee Patti LuPone. Michel also works with Ubisoft, where he has worked on “Myst IV” and the highly-anticipated “Assassin’s Creed”.

Talelight in development on "Notes from a Life"

Talelight Films co-founders Jeff Richards and James Upton are currently in development on "Notes from a Life" with their production partners, Equinoxe Films. The multi-million dollar feature film is the first in their three picture theatrical co-production/distribution deal, which will see Talelight and Equinoxe jointly produce three feature films for theatrical release.

Talelight co-founders Jeff Richards and James Upton, and Senior Vice-President and COO of Equinoxe Films Michael Mosca, will serve as producers on all three films. Jeff Richards will direct two of the three films, which Equinoxe will distribute in all media in Canada.

Talelight Films presents The Talelight Night

Talelight Films returned to the Opus Hotel to host The Talelight Night on October 4th, during the Vancouver International Film Festival. Building on the incredible success of last year's event, The Talelight Night is a celebration of independent film in Canada and saw the return of sponsors Opus Hotel, Opus Bar, Elixir Restaurant, and Grey Goose Vodka.

This year also saw new sponsors joining the night, including EP Canada, Focus Entertainment Insurance Brokers, HollyNorth, Offset, Trinty Power, Dawn Stenzel Photography, Ferrari Maserati of Vancouver, Image Pacific, Lonsdale Events, Phillip Hersee Photography, Production Equipment and William F.
